Types of Healing

There are many different types of Healing, each having their own merits and history; at Life and Soul Empowerment Dawn offers Reiki, Seichem and White Light, which are all healing modalities where the person delivering the healing has been attuned to that healing modality by a Master and then they channel the healing from the universe through their hands to the recipient.

Reiki

Rei-Ki (pronounced Ray Key) means Universal Life Force or Energy. It is a system of natural healing involving the laying on of hands and is many thousands of years old, it is believed that the technique is well over 2,500 years old and originally came from the Mu people who passed it to the Tibetan Buddhist monks and finally it was rediscovered in the 1800’s by Dr Mikao Usui.  The Usui system of Reiki is a very simple but powerful healing technique that is easily given and received by anyone.

Reiki promotes a feeling of well-being.  It enables our body and emotions to take the time they need to deal with any problems, whether they are physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

There are three level of Reiki:

• Level I – purely hands on
• Level II – practitioner level, hands on/off and distance healing
• Master – teacher and practitioner

The main difference between someone attuned to Level I Reiki and Level II Reiki is that at Level II you are qualified as a Reiki Practitioner and they are able to hands off/distance healing; as long as an individual has the required public liability and professional indemnity insurance in place, they are able to charge for the Reiki sessions they provide.

Seichem

Seichem, Gift of the Great Mother, is an ancient and sacred form of hands on healing and is said to be the Parent Energy of all hands on healing systems.  It was rediscovered in the early 1980’s by an American Reiki Master, Patrick Zeigler, who prayed, meditated and fasted to be empowered, much the same way that Dr Usui did when he rediscovered Reiki.  As confirmation of what he had been given, Patrick later met Marat, an old Seichem Teacher from Southern India, who passed on to him the history of Seichem as it has been handed down to him by his teachers and to them by their teachers.

Seichem is the Energy of the Universe manifested through the feminine vibration of the Mother Goddess, known by the Buddhists as Quan Yin and by the Egyptians as Sekmet.  In Ancient Egypt Sekmet was considered to be the Mother of the Gods and was known as The Great One of Healing.  Her magician-priests were the greatest of all healers and her son, Nefar-Tem, the God of Physicians.  In ancient Egypt the term “Sekhem” described “Power” or “Might” and so Seichem Energy also contains aspects which we do not necessarily associate with the feminine and which are more traditionally male characteristics, so it therefore incorporates both yin and yang, or perfect balance, and this balance is the key to progress and enlightenment. 

There are two level of Seichem:

• Level II – practitioner level, hands on/off and distance healing
• Master – teacher and practitioner

There isn’t a Level I in Seichem like there is in Reiki and for the most part you are attuned to Seichem after doing your Reiki level II, often with Reiki Master but it can be sooner; usually your Seichem Master is also your Reiki Master.

White Light

White Light is a universal healing energy that was given to Reiki Master Chris Eddy in the early 2000’s; it is a simple but powerful set of symbols that boost the healing power of other healing modalities and work with the universal power of Mother Nature, the Planet Earth and the Universe she sits in.

White Light attunement happens along side Reiki and Seichem Master attunements; When attuned to all three healing modalities the practitioner will notice how the healing being given will switch between all three different modalities seamlessly and the receiver may notice subtle, but never the less powerful, differences.

How does healing work?

The person delivering the healing is a channel through which the energy passes and is then delivered to where ever it is needed in the recipient’s body; there is no need to know what is wrong with a person or their history as it is completely non-invasive and can only do good.

Healing is usually delivered to the recipient lying down, but can be delivered sitting or standing. When an individual receives healing they may feel different sensations; such as increased warmth, cold, or tingling. Whatever the individual experience, the general beneficial effect of the treatment is the same. The recipient should feel relaxed and restored and have a greater feeling of well-being.

There is no belief system attached to Reiki, Seichem or White Light, so anyone can receive or learn to give a healing treatment, the only prerequisite is the desire to be healed.
