Coaching

Coaching isn’t counselling or therapy, far from it!  It is a non-critical, non-judgemental and impartial approach, which allows the client to move towards fulfilling their potential.  Coaching helps a client understand their strengths, gives them the space to decide what they really want, a coach works with a client to set goals, and gives them the support to take the steps which take them forward, ultimately achieving their goals.  Coaching deals with the now and the future without dwelling on the past.

How Coaching is a catalyst for change

A coach facilitates change, but only the change an individual chooses to make; the individual agrees to become a client and to work with the coach and take action on the changes within agreed time scales.  This is a two way relationship that allows the client to grow and achieve goals.

By asking the right questions, coaching facilitates changes that the client had never thought about before; it wasn’t because they didn’t have the answers, it was just they hadn’t been in the conscious brain before that moment. This allows the client to find solutions to their own situation and facitate movement quickly towards their desired outcome.

With the realisation that they have the answer, a client can then plan how to get to it, ie the journey.  This is goal setting, and with the support of the coach a client sets achievable goals to work towards a final goal in a set time scale.   With check points along the way, the client can see how and when the changes occur and takes ownership of them, thus the coach is just a catalyst to enable their client to make the changes they want.

A coach doesn’t require expert knowledge and insight in the area a person wants to be coached in, what a coach needs is the ability to find out what is occurring now and what the client wants to happen in the future, with that information they facilitate, through questioning, listening, and reflecting back, the changes.

Personal Coaching

When a person is feeling stuck in their life, whether in their job, in relationships or at home, coaching can help discover new directions and help them to focus on what they desire and how to achieve it.

Coaching delivers amazing results that can change so many things for the person, so it is important that they choose the right coach to work with them to facilitate the changes they desire. This is why a free consultation can help decide if Dawn is the right coach for them and to be able to work out a coaching plan.

Following their initial consultation, when a person decides to engage with us and becomes a client, they will receive a plan and contract; once the signed contract and agreed payment1 has been received by us, the client’s sessions will be booked at mutually convenient times.

Business Coaching

With so many companies and individuals offering business coaching, how does a business, small or large, know who to choose to work with their most precious assets?  A business’ staff and their development is something that goes hand in hand with the business’ future success; at Life & Soul Empowerment we believe that choosing the right coach is about knowing what works well for the individuals in the business and what the business and individuals need from coaching.

What’s involved?

Coaching delivers amazing results that can change so many things for the individual and business, so getting it right is very important; that is why we offer an initial consultation (this can be discounted or even waived) so we can both determine that the working relationship’s delicate balance will really compliment each other.  At this stage the business will know if we are right to deliver your coaching needs and we will know if your staff need coaching or self development or both!  We will then work with the business owner/management to determine what issues they want to cover with which individuals and the approximate timescale needed to achieve the desired outcome.  The business will then be sent a plan and contract; once the signed contract and agreed payment1 has been received by us, the individual’s sessions will be booked at mutually convenient times.

Coaching for conflict resolution

Conflict can occur in any area of life; at work, in relationships, in social settings, in teams and so many more the common thread is how to resolve them and move forward without going back over the conflict, in other words putting the conflict to bed without holding any grudges!

Coaching can be a great tool to resolve conflict amicably; a coach works with all parties involved holding the space, assuring everyone is heard and confirming that what someone has said is heard correctly, and ultimately bringing the process to a close with an outcome that is agreeable to all parties.

How does it work

When a coach is engaged to mediate between parties, their role is to firstly understand where each party stands; that may involve one to one meetings with all involved to find out the different perspectives before bringing all parties together to facilitate an agreeable conclusion. Once the coach has a good understanding they can then look towards resolution, this is best down with all parties involved in the same place listening to each other and finding solutions together.

The coach’s role is to then facilitate the meetings, asking questions, assuring everyone understands what each individual party has said and how they feel and to agree a way forward, that may involve compromises by all parties, to an agreeable conclusion for all involved.

Sometimes this can be done verbally but often it is best that all outcomes/agreements are written down and given to all the parties involved. This can be as simple as stating “A will do the shopping every Friday” to more precise details.

Initially a consultation will be facilitated with all parties to see if it is appropriate for us to be the coach to resolve the conflict. Then if all parties agree to work with us, a plan (detailing the individual one to one sessions and the sessions involving all parties) and contract will be sent to the lead contact and once the signed contract and agreed payment1 has been received by us, the individual sessions will be booked at mutually convenient times.
